On July 23, 2005, Sertoma of Leona Valley, a non-profit service organization, held their annual "Cow Chip Championship and Deep-Pit Barbeque." This event was held at the Leona Valley Community Building, 8367 Elizabeth Lake Road. There were games for the kids, live music, a deep-pit barbecue, a bull chip bingo, and drawings, and drawings, and more drawings. Check out the slideshow below of this fun-filled day.

A good time was had by all, and the food was excellent!
The winner of the $500 bull drop was Kim Hunter, owner and operator of Jackie's Restaurant, in Leona Valley. A picture will follow of her receiving her winnings soon. John Martin, of Palmdale, won the grand prize drawing for the Honda portable generator, and his wife, Linda, won the $250 bull drop prize.
