2005 Scholarship Awards Leona V

Leona Valley Sertoma is happy to announce that three scholarships were awarded this spring to two area high school seniors and one transferring Junior college student.

On Saturday morning, June 4, 2005, the two graduating seniors and their parents were honored guests at
Jackie’s Restaurant, in Leona Valley, for the presentation of their scholarships.

Erin Bogdanich is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Bogdanich and a 2005 graduate of Quartz Hill High School.
She will be attending California State University; Fresno in the fall with plans to major in Animal Science.

Domenic Donato is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Donato and is a 2005 graduate of Paraclete High School
and will be attending Chapman University in Orange, California, where he will major in Business
and playing football.

On June 18, 2005 we presented the club’s scholarship to an area Junior college student transferring
to a four-year college.

Cathy, Melissa, and Buzz Smith

Melissa Smith is the daughter of Cathy and Buzz Smith and has been attending Antelope Valley College; she will be attending California State University; Northridge beginning in the fall of 2005. She is studying to become a teacher and is especially interested in working with students with hearing disabilities. Sertoma International is dedicated to helping individuals and families with hearing disabilities, so we are especially proud to be awarding her this scholarship.

We wish all of these fine young adults the very best of success as they move on to their next great adventure. We know that theirs will be the brightest of futures and that the future is in good hands.
